East Texans are invited to help “Stuff-A-Bus” with non-perishable food items as part of a coordinated community food drive effort. Longview Transit, in partnership with Longview ISD, Pine Tree ISD, and Spring Hill ISD, will conduct the Stuff-A-Bus Food Drive benefiting Longview Community Ministries, Hiway 80 Rescue Mission, and Newgate Mission.

Buses will be located at four high traffic retail locations from Noon – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19. A Longview Transit bus will be parked at Target, 3092 N. Eastman Rd. Suite 100. A Spring Hill ISD school bus will be parked at Brookshire’s of Longview, 3354 Gilmer Road. A Longview ISD school bus will be parked at Super One Foods, 1217 E. Marshall Ave. A Pine Tree ISD school bus will be located at Super One Foods, 2301 W. Loop 281.

The stuff-a-bus concept is a new project for the Longview area, but similar efforts have been successful in other communities across the country. The Longview event is a collaborative effort that includes public school transportation and local city public transportation. Other sponsors include Mix 93.1 and Brookshire’s.

The purpose of the food drive is to work together with residents and local agencies to help make the holiday a little brighter for Longview neighbors who may be struggling to put food on the table. Everyone is invited to help us Stuff-A-Bus and help the Longview community.

For more information about the Stuff-A-Bus effort, contact Damiya Pentecost with Longview Transit at 903-237-2287 ext. 14, or visit LongviewTransit.com
